A Root Beer Barrel and a Heap

This is our neighbor on one of his tractors next to Julian on his tractor.  Unlike Julian's tractor, this one goes at least 35 miles an hour because its engine came out of an old Pinto.  Which is pretty fast, considering.  Glen is a sort of inventor, tinkerer who has converted most of his farm equipment and even his truck to run on propane.

I wanted to just post the picture and say, "This is our neighbor.  Enough said."  But I can't help but expunge the qualities of this 88 year old farmer.  He's a testament to working keeping you young, that's for sure.  A month ago, I 'helped' him change a wheel on his hay picker, but really he did most of the work.  And as you can see, the children adore him . . . maybe because his pockets are always stocked with root beer barrels but maybe also because of all of his sweet, old farm equipment.  Who does't love a tractor?
